Prestigious award for IW Badminton Chairman

There was a surprise for Tony Isaacs, chairman of the Isle of Wight County Badminton Association, when he competed at the 2012 Masters Inter County Championships at Bournemouth. He became the first islander to be presented with the English Badminton award for outstanding services to the sport.
The presentation was made by Geoff Rofe, President of Badminton England, in front of fellow competitors at the Championship’s social evening. Tony Isaacs has been coaching juniors for over 30 years, some of whom are now playing Masters badminton themselves, and last summer was the driving force behind the highly successful Island Games badminton tournament.
There was also a presentation of flowers to Beryl Ashford who scheduled the tournaments, not just at Bournemouth but at various venues around the country over the last two weekends.

Junior Tournamet Update – New Date!

For all those entering the U12 and U16 events at this years IW Junior Tournament please be aware that we have been forced to move these competitions to Sunday 11th March.

If you are yet to enter then it’s not too late as all entries must be in by the 28th. If you would like to enter but can’t find a partner then please let Cleet know, someone else might be in the same situation.
